Another 55-mile day today making it over to Oregon’s coast. I’ve been watching the weather closely the past few days and was hopeful that I might miss that rain. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite work out as I had hoped.
Where Are All The Pictures?
Last night it rained pretty good but was supposed to clear up in the morning. I got up at my usual time, and things looked good, so I headed out on my way. About 5-10 miles in, the rain started to come down pretty good and did so until the last few miles.
At first, it was a little frustrating. I put on my sun glasses so that I could keep my eyes open. Eventually, I just gave into the rain and the idea that I was going to be soaking wet.
Once I did that the ride became much more enjoyable, even though I had water sloshing around in my socks and running down my face. Luckily, I have a water-proof case that I can store my laptop and electronics in.
Today had some pretty good climbs as well:
So, given that, I had my GoPro stowed for the day, which means I didn’t get too many pictures.
I Made it to the Coast!
Towards the end of the ride today, the rain died down and I made it to the coast. As I hit the top of the hill, I caught my first glimpse of the ocean. That view was a very welcome sight indeed!
It looks like the next few days are going to be pretty hilly as I make my way down the coast to California.
